Kisubi Mapeera Secondary School today celebrated 27 years since its establishment in 1999, bringing together the school community for a day of faith, reflection, achievement and celebration.
The programme began with an exhibition of students' work, featuring Art, Science and Technology, Agriculture, house prototypes and recycling projects.
The exhibition gave parents and guests an opportunity to see the practical and creative work being produced by learners before the school band ushered the community into the main program.
At the center of the celebration was Holy Mass let by Rev. Fr. Gerald Mpanju Episcopal Vicar for Entebbe Vicariate and Parish Priest Bugonga Parish, Entebbe the main Celebrant.
The celebration was also graced by Rev. Fr. Dr. Male Pius Ssentumbwe, the chief Guest and former Chairperson of the KIMSS Board of Governors, a position he held for six years
In his speech, Fr. Pius appreciated parents and guardians, the administration, teachers and the entire school community for their role in nurturing students morally and spiritually. He encouraged the confirmands to remain prayerful and to understand what they are called to do in their lives.Reflecting on the Guardian Angels, Fr. Pius also encouraged the KIMSS community to “walk together”, emphasising that walking together means more than simply cheering one another; it also involves listening to guidance and supporting one another.
Looking back at 27 years
He highlighted the completion of the Fr. Vincent Mulumba Men's Residence, the school's recent success at the 2026 National Music, Dance, Drama and Debate Festival, and its achievement in Arusha.
Academic excellence was also recognised, with Nakanwagi Rosette honoured as the school's Outstanding Student of 2025 after scoring 20 points in UACE in BCM/ICT.
These achievements form part of the wider journey of a school that began in 1999 with three teachers and eight students and has continued to grow while maintaining its Catholic foundation and commitment to developing students intellectually, spiritually, morally, physically and socially.
Recognising the KIMSS community
The Chairperson of the Board of Governors, Rev. Fr. Steven Nyanzi, appreciated everyone for their continued support towards the school and wished the S4 and S6 candidates success in their forthcoming examinations.
He also commended the school's old students for maintaining their connection with KIMSS through physical programmes and activities at the school, noting that they continue to encourage current students and show them the way.
Rev. Fr. Nyanzi described the students as “the physical witnesses for the great work, fruits and good governance” of the school.
Teachers and non-teaching staff were also recognised and awarded for their contribution to the school.
The celebrations continued with performances and entertainment before the cutting of the anniversary cake, bringing the day's programme to a close.
