Kisubi Mapeera has shone once again on the regional stage.
This time, the spotlight was on Namirembe Reanah Juliana, a Senior Four learner who represented the school at the East African Schools Debate Championship in Arusha, Tanzania.
Held from 9 to 13 September 2026 at St. Jude SS Smith Campus, the championship brought together learners from across East Africa for debate, public speaking, quizzes, poetry and other competitions.
For Reanah, it was a chance to take what she had been learning and practising at Kisubi Mapeera and put it to the test on a much bigger stage.
And she made her school proud.
Among 120 public speakers taking part in the championship, Reanah finished in an impressive 6th position.
That number tells part of the story. The other part is the young learner who stood before a regional audience, gathered her confidence and spoke.
For a Senior Four student, it was a remarkable opportunity to meet other young people from across the region, listen to different ideas, experience a different environment and discover that her voice could travel much further than the classroom.
And that is what makes this achievement special for Kisubi Mapeera.
We want our learners to experience more than what can be found within the pages of a textbook. We want them to travel, compete, ask questions, express themselves, meet others and discover what they are capable of.
Reanah has given us another proud example of what that can look like.
We are grateful to Headteacher Rev. Fr. Kaweesa Benedict for supporting the school's participation and to Ms. Nasiima Grace, our debate and public-speaking coach, for the guidance and preparation behind this achievement.
Well done, Mamirembe Reanah Juliana.
From Mapeera to Arusha, our learners are finding their voices and taking them further.
