The Trophies Are Finally Home

The MDDD team, fresh from their remarkable run at the 2026 National Schools Music, Dance, Drama and Debate Festival, stood before the entire school community this time not to perform, but to show everyone what they had brought home.

On 24 August, Kisubi Mapeera Secondary School had one of those moments that will remain in the school’s story for a long time.

Article image Our MDD team was crowned the Overall Winner of the 2026 National Schools Music, Dance, Drama and Debate Festival.

Today, during the morning assembly, the celebration came home.

The trophies won by our students were presented to the school administration in the presence of the entire school community. The Head Teacher, Rev. Fr. Kawesa Benedict, together with Deputy Administration Ms. Namirimu Cissy, Deputy Academics Mr. Okello Jimmy and other members of the administration, received the trophies on behalf of the school.

Article image But the real highlight of the morning was seeing the students who made it happen standing before their fellow students.

One by one, our MDD participants were recognised and presented with their medals and certificates. For a moment, the assembly became more than the usual morning gathering. The students who had spent countless hours rehearsing, performing and representing Kisubi Mapeera were being celebrated by the very school they had gone out to represent.

And the trophies told their own story.

Article image They represented the rehearsals, the long days, the corrections, the teamwork and the determination that went into preparing for the competition. They were a reminder that the success announced on 24 August did not happen overnight.

For the students watching from the assembly, there was something special about seeing their own friends and schoolmates standing there with medals around their necks and certificates in their hands.

These were not just trophies brought back from a competition.

They were Kisubi Mapeera's trophies.

Article image There was pride in the smiles, excitement among the students and, perhaps most importantly, a feeling that this achievement belonged to the whole school.

The national victory may have happened on 24 August, but today gave us another opportunity to pause and appreciate what our students achieved.

Article image From the stage to the assembly ground, the story remains the same:

Our students went out to represent Kisubi Mapeera, gave it their best, and came back as national champions.

And today, they stood before us and reminded us of it all over again.

Article image The trophies are home. 🏆❤️

Congratulations to our MDD team, their coaches, teachers, and everyone who supported them throughout the journey.
